9 months old!

Kayley turned nine months old on the 30th of July. It is absolutely amazing how fast Kayley is growing up. I have learned that I NEVER want to wish any stage of her life to be over with. (You know, like, she's only 2 months old, I wish she was a year so she could walk. Or, I wish she knew how to drink out of a bottle already etc.) It will go too fast anyway. Every stage in her life is special!

More on our trip to TN

Since our last post we ended up extending the trip a few more days. I was privileged to be in the room with Emily when she and Owan welcomed their daughter Eva Grace into the world. Eva weighed a whopping 9 pounds 10.3 ounces! Emily was amazing! I am so proud of her.
With all of this going on, I have spent much less time with Kayley this week. When I picked Eva up in front of her, her eyes widened and she began whining and reaching for me. I have never seen her acting jealous before. It was so cute--but I felt sad that she was really missing me. Kayley learned a new sound that she makes when she is trying to say kitty cat. "tk..tk" She loves them (Of course she also calls Sarah's wiener dog by the same sound). She also has a new funny face that her Aunt Sarah taught her. Randomly, Kayley met two of her 3rd cousins that just happened to be serving in Oak Ridge TN as missionary companions. Anyway, we are finally home. We are enjoying every minute we get with Michael. He is taking some intense summer classes so we have to at least try to let him study.

Our stay in TN

Kayley and I are enjoying our stay in TN. We miss Michael dearly. When we first arrived here as my sisters eagerly approached Kayley while she sat in her car seat she caught a glance of them approaching. She cried out with a look of terror on her face "Da-Di! Da-Di!" looking around for Michael to save her. Kayley has since grown fond of her aunties. She even cried when Sarah left the house tonight. Since we have been here we have been to the lake, the pool, out to eat delicious food, visited with the Cochrans, played many rounds of Rummy, and gone on scenic walks/runs, etc. Kayley's first tooth grew the day after we left Utah. She sat up on her own. She is growing up so fast. Emily, my sister, is pregnant with her first child. She looks radiant! I am here in hopes to be with her when she welcomes Eva Grace into the world. Eva is due on the fourth of July and we are headed back on the eighth. I will keep my fingers crossed. I will post some pictures of our trip.

7 month old Kayley Faith

Hello everyone! I guess it is about time to put some new pictures on our blog. Kayley is now 7 months old, and has a personality cuter than ever. She can't quite crawl as of yet but I have no complaints about that. Her skill of rolling enables her to get wherever she wants to go fast enough. If I set her on the ground to play then turn my back for a few minutes, she will usually end up across the entire room sucking on something, like the strap on a backpack or a shoelace. I guess it's about time we keep dirty things of this nature out of reach. Kayley is saying da da da da of course, and more recently, due to hours of practicing with her, ma ma ma ma ma. She also likes to try and sing along with songs that might be playing on the computer, although it really just sounds like she's yelling.

We took Kayley to the park by our house again this weekend. She enjoys playing in the grass and being in the sun. We were going to put her in the baby swings they have there but they ended up being too hot to set her down in. It's a good thing Alyssa thought to touch the plastic before we set her down in the swing, otherwise she could have been burnt pretty badly. We really enjoy our time with Kayley. Her personality is finally showing through, and it does nothing but make us laugh.
