A very fun family outing to White Sands New Mexico

On Friday we decided to go to white sands and get a few pictures of the family. Sarah was in town so we took advantage of her photo taking skills.

White sands is a interesting place. While you are driving you do not see any signs of any sand anywhere. Just the normal trees, shrubs, rocks and cactus that southern NM is famous for. Then, all of the sudden off to your left is this sand. Miles and miles of white sand. I don't think I have been to a more interesting place. It was a great experience to visit this lovely place. While we were there, the sun was setting and a lightning storm was taking place in the sky. This just added to the beauty of the scenery. Kayley had a wonderful time playing in the sand! It was difficult getting her back in the car. Its a great place for kids to play. No matter how far they wander off you can still easily see them, and there is nothing to get hurt on!

Kayley and Liam, Daddy and Liam

Here are a few pictures of Daddy with Liam and one of Kayley holding her brother for the first time. Kayley, for the most part, has been a good big sister. Sometimes she will walk up to Liam when he's sitting in his chair and kiss him on the head. I am bound to get a picture of it one day.

Liam and Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa came to see Liam for the first time today. They brought Zach with them as well so he could hang out with his cousins.

I just wanted to add a few more pics of Kayley, Lyss, Emily and Eva playing in our pool! The weather here is great for swimming...year round. I have yet to find the time myself...

Liam Michael Ray

Liam was born on Sunday, June 14th at 5:39 pm. Only around 5% of babies are born on their "due date" and both Kayley and Liam were! Alyssa checked into the hospital on sunday at about 8:30 in the morning. She was not induced. I know several people were wondering about that. He is 8 lbs and 5 oz and 19 inches long. The same length as Kayley was, just a little heavier. Alyssa and Liam are now home from the hospital. It has been a stressful time with me in school and working at the hospital. Alyssa has had to have some extra help from her mother and sister Emily. We are very thankful they were able to come to Las Cruces to help out. We have enjoyed their company. Liam is a beautiful little boy! He is absolutely perfect just like his sister! We are happy he has joined the family and are thankful for his presence. He is such a little cutie and loves to be held. Kayley is not too upset either. She likes to point at him and say "baby" and "babies toes" while touching his little feet. She only gets a little jealous if he is sitting in her old pink infant chair. We bought her a new one that can hold more weight so now she can have her own...again. Eva, Kayley and Liam's cousin (Emily's daugter) is also here so her and Kayley "play" together which also aids as a distraction. Alyssa is recovering well and is happy to be back at the house. I know you are all anxious to see some pictures so here are some! Later I will add some of Kayley so you can see how big she is getting too. Of course, there will also be more pictures of Liam soon!
